Table-Top Chocolate Fountain

This stainless steel chocolate fountain is simple to set up and use and is compact enough to sit on a table, making it brilliant for kid's parties, family get togethers, small weddings or at Christmas and New Year.

This three-tier chocolate fountain is 39cm high and has a diameter of 21.5cm, yet it can hold up to 2lb of melted chocolate. It has adjustable feet on the base so even if your table isn't 100% level, your flowing chocolate will be. The motor and heat have separate controls so you can keep the chocolate warm even if you want to stop it from flowing.

Do I Need To Melt The Chocolate First?

This chocolate fountain machine has a maximum temperature of 20˚c so it will keep melted chocolate liquid, but it won’t melt it for you. Before use you’ll need to melt your chocolate either in a bowl over boiling water or in a microwave. Don’t add any solids or cool liquids to the chocolate once it is in the fountain.

What Can I Dip In My Chocolate Fountain?

There are all sorts of things you can dip into your chocolate from traditional items like marshmallows and strawberries to exotic fruit kebabs or biscotti. When it comes to dipping in your chocolate fountain, it’s best to use skewers, whether metal or wooden, or dipping forks, but you can use cocktail sticks or normal cutlery if that’s all you have to hand.

How Should I Clean This Chocolate Fountain?

Cleaning is fairly straightforward. First turn off the fountain and unplug it. Dismantle the tiers and pour away as much of the remaining chocolate as you can. Use a soft piece of kitchen towel or something similar to wipe up any chocolate around the sides of the pans. Obviously, it’s best to do this as soon as you can after turning the chocolate fountain machine off so the chocolate is still liquid. Soak the auger and tower in warm, soapy water then rinse clean and dry. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the power unit and external services clean then dry with a kitchen towel.

So long as you follow these simple steps you can enjoy sweet treats dipped in delicious melted chocolate for a whole evening.

Set Up The Fountain

Make It Level: Construct the fountain according to the instructions then place it on a level table. It is very important to ensure your chocolate fountain is completely level otherwise the chocolate won't flow evenly. Use the adjustable feet on the base to help you achieve this.

Make It Secure: Ensure that wherever your place your chocolate fountain is stable as well as level. If it is knocked over the warm chocolate may scald and it will also create quite a mess. It's also good advice to place your fountain in a sheltered area, particularly if you are using it outdoors - even a slight breeze can blow the chocolate away from the collecting bowl and over your table top.

Melt The Chocolate

What Chocolate To Use: You can use any type of chocolate in a chocolate fountain, but you may have to combine it with different amounts of vegetable oil in order to achieve the consistency needed to make it flow. If you can, use chocolate designed for melting as this will make your life a lot easier.

How To Melt Chocolate: There are two ways to melt your chocolate. The traditional way is to put chunks of chocolate in a heat proof bowl resting over a saucepan of simmering water. The other way is to melt it in a microwave using short bursts of temperature. In our experience, the microwave method is quicker but it is easier to burn your chocolate this way, particularly if you are melting white chocolate.

Start The Fountain

Preheat The Fountain: Turn the heater on the chocolate fountain to ON and allow the plates to warm up for a minute or two. Next, pour the chocolate into the reservoir at the bottom and fill it to the brim.

Start The Flow: Once your fountain is full turn on the motor and watch the chocolate being pulled up to the top and cascading over the tiers. If the chocolate is not flowing smoothly add a tablespoon of oil and gently stir it into the reservoir. 

Remove The Air: After you chocolate has been flowing for a couple of minutes the the motor off for 30 seconds. This will remove any air bubbles from the system that could stop the chocolate flowing smoothly. Turn the motor back on and get ready to start dipping.
